Spaces had to be connected, yet differentiated. Open, friendly and peaceful to live in, without turning dull. Colours representing different types of Spanish soil, from Castilla to Cadiz, fill the walls. Touches of brass, arabic roof tiles and natural materials to connect with. Entering the space, simplicity is what you walk into. Materials are both humble and noble, emanating a sense of austerity. The monolithic fireplace stands centered, while the ancient cider-press, now restored functions as a day-bed. While preserving its essence, an integral renovation takes place to give the Manor a conscious application in modern times; creating value. Every space has its character, every room is a universe, it all works together. A kaleidoscope of colours and textures bathes the space, natural materials, antiques and made to measure pieces fill the space and give birth to Manor Residence - [pied a terre](https://sudweek.com/pied-a-terre) PIED A TERRE Restoration of classified building Paris, France The apartment is located in a historic Paris landmark, catalogued both outside and inside; every aspect had to be preserved while giving it a breath of fresh air. Floors were reinstalled using ancient 19th century wood flooring. Other elements including the windows and beams were sanded and treated with eco-natural varnishes. Technical installations were renovated and artfully hidden. There is a shift in the breathing element, as water has been replaced by light. Gold traces as hommage of the organisms left by the water. In the library, furniture piles up, racks hang loose, as if the school had been vandalised. At the far end of the room, two screens, one showing film extracts and the other broadcasting the runway live. Guests are seated in a circular arrangement beneath the dome, while in the library, they find themselves at the student´s desks, immersed in the unique atmosphere. Each intervention was subtle yet precise, allowing the house to breathe again and its memory to resurface.
